New Hampshire Equestrian Academy
The New Hampshire Equestrian Academy is the only N.H. state approved public equine school and is the first equine charter school in the Nation and has a focus on pre-veterinary medicine. This public school offers 9th-12th grade students balanced course work in college preparatory, traditional academic subjects and specialized equine learning experiences. The program allows students to attend their academic classes and unique career-related courses in Equine Studies. Through the Myhre Equine Clinic, students have pre-veterinary clinical rounds which are board-approved for high school science credit. Dr. Myhre teaches the students serious equine veterinary science. In addition to providing a robust and competitive college preparatory program, the school will prepare students for entrepreneurial, and personal opportunities in equine career fields. The New Hampshire Equestrian Academy is for students with definite interests in the equine industry. NHEA is an authorized public school of choice. It is free—no parent tuition to New Hampshire residents- to any student with a passion for both academic study and horses. Applications are now being considered for the 2008-2009 school year. Application forms can be found on the official NHEA website. The NHEA Equine Studies program is designed to be self-supporting. The Equine Studies program requires ongoing fundraising and continued private subsidizing. All donations will be accepted gratefully and are tax deductible. A BIG "Thank You" to Dr. Myhre, his clinic staff and the HKEC crew for all of their efforts and generous donations to NHEA and its Equine Studies program!
