HKEC offers a
comprehensive riding program for horse enthusiasts
of all ages and levels. Our riding program is
designed to give students the opportunity to gain
practical education and the hands-on experience of
learning and riding at a premier
equestrian facility. We believe that all students should know- and
practice- standard safety rules for working around
horses, which includes how to approach and halter a
horse, lead a horse, groom, saddle and bridle
properly. Riders are
encouraged to learn through hands-on experiences
with show-quality school horses/ponies, or with their own
horse/pony.
Your
first riding lesson will be considered an introduction or evaluation
and will be either a 1/2 hour or 1 hour private lesson. We will
assess any skills you might have and discuss the technical 'how-to'
and the fundamentals of learning about horses and riding. During
this lesson we will outline a plan for your future goals and the
start of your lesson schedule.
The 100x200 competition sized outdoor sand ring and 60' round pens provide riders with ample
place to lesson, school and train. More experienced riders will
enjoy the opportunity to ride on the various bridle paths, trails
and fields.
We look forward to having our
NEW indoor arena open
for winter riding. With the future addition of a cross country course
and
regulation sized dressage arena, we look forward to hosting a variety of events
including Horse Shows, Clinics& Horse Trials. |
