Internships at Myhre Equine Clinic: An internship at MEC aims to provide the intern with an intensive, hands-on educational experience, with exposure to large and varied medical, surgical, and imaging caseload. They will be involved with the daily treatment of inpatients, examining outpatients, diagnosing and treating, assisting in surgery, writing discharge instructions, dispensing medications, and admitting emergencies, among a variety of other tasks. Qualifications for an internship: DVM or equivalent, Curriculum Vitae, letter of intent, and 3 letters of recommendation. A visit to the clinic and an externship are recommended but not required. Externs will be involved with daily treatments of inpatients, assisting the doctors during exams, assist technicians in radiology, nuclear scintigraphy, CT, and surgery, among a variety of other tasks. Qualifications for the externship: enrollment in a pre-veterinary or veterinary degree program, a resume or curriculum vitae, letter of intent, and at least one letter of recommendation.
