History of Myhre Equine Clinic (MEC)
The Rochester Equine Clinic (REC) was built in 1969 by Dr. James Burns and enjoyed three and a half decades of quality service to New England horses, owners, trainers, veterinarians and farriers. The Myhre Equine Clinic (MEC) continues that same tradition at the same site with newly remodeled facilities and “cutting edge” technology taking MEC to the highest level of veterinary diagnostics and care available, not only in New England, but in the United States. From the most experienced veterinary surgeons and diagnosticians and our highly educated and caring staff to newly revamped nuclear medicine and, Computer Assisted Tomography (C.A.T.). MEC has it all. Dr. Burns would be proud to see his facility has evolved into New England’s premier Equine Treatment and Veterinary Imaging Center. Dr. Grant Myhre brings over 30 years of referral experience, the most in New England, to MEC. Arriving in 1978, Dr. Myhre has grown with the facility, becoming instrumental in its technological success. Many others have contributed to the success of the facility over the years and their efforts are appreciated. We wish them all health and happiness. MEC continues to evolve. A new gamma camera will
enlarge our nuclear medicine capabilities by incorporating
“motion correction” software. We continually strive
to provide you and your horse with the most caring treatment and modern
technology available now and in the future.
