Dr.
Grant D. Myhre B.S., D.V.M.: Growing up on his family's mid-west
farm, Dr. Myhre, has built on his general knowledge of horses. After
graduating from Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine he completed his Large Animal/Surgery internship at
the College of Veterinary Medicine in Colorado and a two-year
residency at Cornell University. He launched his career as a surgeon
(and later, hospital
director), leading the Rochester Equine Clinic to the forefront of
veterinary medicine. With the expansion of Sports and Nuclear
Medicine the state-of-the-art hospital now carries the rightful name
"Myhre
Equine Clinic". MEC offers the most experienced
veterinary surgeons, diagnosticians and highly educated staff in the
newly renovated hospital including the only
nuclear medicine center
and Computer Assisted Tomography (C.A.T.
scan brochure).
Following
his passion for teaching, Dr. Myhre, became an Adjunct Professor at
the University of New Hampshire and the University of Massachusetts.
As an executive board member, he has helped to lead the American
Association of Equine Practitioners, heading various committees
including Practice Management, Constitution & Bylaws, Audit &
Budget, Hospital Management and the Ethics Committee. Dr. Myhre, has
been honored as a Director of the NH Horse Council, NH Thoroughbred
Breeder's Association, NH Farm Museum and continues on the board for
the NH Care & Facilities Fund and the NH Equestrian Academy. He
was selected by AHSA as their representing veterinarian from New
York to New England and for more than ten years he was the NH State
Veterinarian.
Enjoying more than three decades of
quality service, Dr. Myhre has been instrumental in the continued
success of MEC and the equine complex as a whole. Complex owner, Dr.
Myhre, continues as the senior surgeon and hospital director.
Wentworth Hunt member, Dr. Myhre is an avid equestrian and enjoys
Fox Hunting, Hunter Pacing and trail riding.

Ron Vin, DVM, Dip ACVIM (LAIM):
Dr. Vin graduated from the Koret School of Veterinary
Medicine, the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Israel in 1996. He has
trained in large animal medicine between 1997 & 2002, working with
the Rochester/Myhre Equine Clinic (as an intern and a staff
veterinarian) and at Tufts University Cummings School of
Veterinary Medicine (as a research fellow and a resident in large
animal medicine). Dr. Vin is a Diplomate of the American College
of Veterinary Internal Medicine (ACVIM).
Following his
residency at Tufts University, Dr. Vin founded 'Equine Diagnostics',
a mobile unit providing referral diagnostic services to equine
practitioners throughout New England. In 2005, Dr. Vin joined Dr.
Paul Schwartz at the Center for Veterinary Care, Millbrook and
became the Director of their equine division.
Dr. Vin's main
clinical interests are emergency and critical care, neurologic,
gastrointestinal, respiratory diseases and diagnostic ultrasound.
Internationally featured, Dr. Vin has presented at the AVMA
Convention, Equine Affaire and to the Israeli Association of Equine
Practitioners. In 2007, Dr. Vin was a featured keynote speaker at
the MEC Annual Veterinary/Technician Conference with Dr. Sue Dyson.
He has authored/coauthored articles that have been published by the
Journal of Veterinary Emergency & Critical Care and the American
Journal of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine.
During his free
time, Dr. Vin enjoys spending time with his family, reading, running
with his dog, Benji and horseback riding.

Kathryn
Wakeman, B.S., C.V.T:
Originally from Kingston, NH, Kathryn grew up loving horses. At
the age of 10, she got the perfect Christmas present, her first
horse "Bucky". The two made memories competing at Open shows
until Kathryn left for
Otterbein
College in Columbus, Ohio.
While at Otterbein, Kathryn also
attended Columbus State Community College where she earned her
Veterinary Technician
Certification.
Kathryn was an active member of the IHSA Hunt
Seat and the Eventing teams. She even squeezed in working for a
top H/J show facility including a season at WEF.
Kathryn
double majored in Equine Veterinary Technology and Equine
Business Management graduating in 2005.
Kathryn is
certified nationally after passing the National Veterinary
Technician Exam. Currently, she resides in
Newburyport,
MA with her two cats, dog, (retired) "Bucky" and her new Eventer/Jumper,
"Calloway".
She
and "Calloway" compete regularly in Novice level Events and
Jumper shows.
